Yu Gu serves as an Agricultural Research Analyst in the Food and Natural Resources Program at WRI China, with a focus on sustainable agriculture transition policies, practices, and supply chain traceability to support China’s low-carbon and resilient food system transformation.

Before joining WRI China, she worked as a Life Cycle Assessment Modeler and Geospatial Data Analyst in the Sustainability Data & Methodology Group at OFI (Olam Food Ingredients) in Amsterdam. Prior to her PhD, she served as a consultant in climate change and carbon emission management at SinoCarbon Innovation & Investment Co., Ltd in Beijing.

Yu Gu holds a PhD in Environmental and Soil Sciences from Wageningen University (NL) through a joint Sino-Dutch Agriculture Green Development program with China Agricultural University. She also earned a Master’s degree in Water and Environmental Management from the University of Bristol (UK). During her MSc, she conducted research at Rothamsted Research's North Wyke Farm Platform in Devon, where she also completed her master’s thesis.
